Leslie Shing
Leslie Shing is a technical staff member in the Artificial Intelligence Technology and Systems Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Her research interests are broadly focused on the development and application of data-driven and machine learning–based approaches for both cyber and biological applications. Her work includes automated cyber dependency mapping for mission assurance, detection of malicious lateral movement activities in networked environments, in silico antibody design, and information extraction of unstructured documents.
Prior to joining the Laboratory, Shing worked at ValueGene (now part of IDT), an oligonucleotide synthesis company. While there, she focused on the production of custom DNA and RNA synthesis, and oversaw many of the accounting, administrative, and customer-facing interactions and procedures. Shing was also awarded a scholarship in 2013 for the Naval Postgraduate School’s CyberCorps Scholarship for Service Program.
Shing earned an MS degree in computer science from the Naval Postgraduate School and a BS degree in human biology from the University of California, San Diego.
