Cheryl Sorace-Agaskar
Dr. Cheryl Sorace-Agaskar is a senior staff member in the Quantum Information and Integrated Nanosystems Group, working in integrated photonics. Her current research focuses on integrated (especially silicon) photonics for analog applications, behavioral modeling of integrated photonic components, and nitride photonics aimed at enabling the scaling of trapped-ion systems to a size necessary for quantum computing.
Sorace-Agaskar joined Lincoln Laboratory after completing her doctoral studies at MIT, where she was a member of the Optics & Quantum Electronics and the Integrated Microsystems Groups. Her dissertation, Analog Integrated Photonics, explored the design of novel silicon photonic modulators and an integrated mode-locked laser, as well as joint electronic and optical modeling tools for the design of such integrated systems.
Sorace-Agaskar has authored or coauthored more than 20 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications. She has received the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and MIT's Ida M. Green Fellowship. She is a member of the Optical Society of America.
She holds a BS degree in engineering physics from Cornell University and SM and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from MIT.
