An early warning system to help mitigate the impact of climate disasters in the world’s most vulnerable regions.
MIT Technology Review reports on the Climate Resilience Early Warning System (CREWSnet), an MIT Climate Grand Challenges flagship project.
“The basic idea behind CREWSnet is to reinvent the process of climate change adaptation,” says MIT professor Eltahir Eltahir, who leads the project with John Aldridge and Deborah Campbell at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. “It integrates a lot of expertise and knowledge and tools that we have developed in different corners of the Institute, pulling them together to help those vulnerable communities.”
