The leader of the Laboratory's Energy Systems Group discusses how the government can be equipped to handle long-term power outages after emergencies.
At last year's Defense Innovation Summit, Erik Limpaecher, the leader of the Energy Systems Group at Lincoln Laboratory, talked about fundamentally changing the Department of Defense's existing emergency-response approach and putting in place infrastructure for addressing long-term power outages. In his talk, he tests the assumption that energy resilience for long-term outages costs more than existing infrastructure.
